OASA was founded as the result of an ASUO task force created in 2012. Our vision is to institute effective change in the pursuit of ending sexual violence. In order to do this, we implement prevention, education, and advocacy efforts for survivors of sexual
violence and the general community. 2019-20 will be OASA's sixth school year, and we currently are working on a variety of programs such as a tabling events (self-care, love yourself, what is consent?), speaker panels to address the often unspoken issues surrounding
sexual assault, and Sex Toy Bingo. We also host bi-weekly meetings open to all students to foster conversation about consent issues in our community. We have worked closely with other student organizations on campus as well as assisting with projects led by
UO faculty and admin. We want to make it clear that this is a serious time commitment and that we want all tasks followed through that we request.
